Race car smashes into crowd, injures spectators

Frightening scenes unfolded at the Wallerfield racecourse in Trinidad and Tobago with Five people seriously injured after a race car smashed through a safety barrier.

Stunned spectators scrambled as one of the cars veered off the track, crashing through the tyre barrier at the at the Caribbean Motor Racing Championships, but just moments later, a second vehicle came through the same barrier and flew into the stands.

The crash occurred during one of the final laps of the race, with one woman reportedly crushed underneath the vehicle, with the driver and three others seriously injured as well.
