Reading 2-2 Ipswich Town (3-1 pens): Ipswich need penalties to see-off Reading in EFL Cup

Ipswich held their nerve to edge through to the third round of the EFL Cup on penalties at League One Reading.

Brandon Williams' own-goal 74 seconds into his Ipswich debut put the hosts ahead but Cameron Humphreys and Freddie Ladapo turned the tie on its head for the Championship high-fliers.

In-form Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan's late leveller sent the tie to spot-kicks but the Royals could only convert one of the four penalties they took as Town prevailed 3-1.

The third round draw will be made on Wednesday night with ties to take place on 26/27 September.
