Well, the NFL draft is finally here. Are you into it or sick of it before it’s even started?

The one thing we do know is that all eyes will be on Steve Keim. He’s the bald dude above, and if you don’t know who he is, well, his brain will ultimately determine the flow of Round 1.

Which way will he go?

As GM of the Arizona Cardinals, Keim is blessed with the No. 1 pick. Consensus is he’ll take Kyler Murray first off the board, which will likely begin a run on defensive studs. But if he goes a different direction, well, that will turn this draft into an episode of Supermarket Sweep.

Is the No. 1 pick a blessing?

Not always, as Jay Busbee explains below. And placing your franchise into the hands of a 5-9 QB is a risk, no matter how good all the scouts say Murray is.

Keim hired Kliff Kingsbury, he of the losing record at Texas Tech, and with that steered the Cardinals down a road directed toward Murray. That’s two massive swings in one.

Give Keim credit for taking the cuts, but boy they better be right.

MLB: Vlad Jr. gets the call up

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., son of Sr. and the top prospect in all of baseball, is getting the call up to the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday. Junior has raked at every level, slashing .331/.414/.529. His first start will come against the A’s in what is the most anticipated debut in franchise history.

NBA PLAYOFFS: Clippers aren’t dead yet

On the road, down 3-1 to the Warriors, the Clippers staved off a furious comeback to force a Game 6 against the champs. Whether this is a sign of a team on the come or the other’s struggles, in the big picture it means Golden State’s road to a three-peat just got a little rockier.

NFL: Ben Roethlisberger gets paid

The Steelers didn’t want to pay Le’Veon Bell, didn’t want to deal with Antonio Brown’s demands, but they are willing to back up the Brinks truck for their QB. The 37-year-old Roethlisberger just signed on for two more years and $63 million. That’s more per year than everyone in the NFL, save Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers.
