Rapper Slowthai appears in court charged with rape
Rapper Slowthai appeared in court on Tuesday charged with raping a woman.
The Grammy-nominated rapper, 28, is accused of attacking the woman twice in Oxford in September 2021.
Slowthai, whose real name is Tyron Frampton, appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday via video-link.
He spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address.
The rapper was bailed to next appear at Oxford Crown Court on June 15.
His debut album, Nothing Great About Britain, was nominated for a Mercury prize in 2019 and reached the Top 10.
Tyron, his second album, reached No 1 in the UK charts in 2021.
Slowthai is currently dating pop singer Anne-Marie, 32, who confirmed their romance in a social media post earlier this year.
