Supercars officials have brought forward the start time of the Bathurst 1000 with heavy rain and storms forecast for Sunday.
The 161-lap season finale at Mt Panorama will get underway at 11am AEDT, 30 minutes earlier than originally scheduled.
Some rain is expected to fall in the regional NSW town on Saturday, but up to 10mm, including morning and afternoon storms, is predicted for Sunday.
Wet weather has often caused havoc at Bathurst 1000, but the time change will ensure there is a greater chance of the great race being completed.
At least 50 per cent of the scheduled race distance needs to be covered to declare a winner and avoid a non-result.
