Raiders duo rally around stood down Scott

Senior Canberra players Josh Hodgson and Josh Papalii are rallying around Curtis Scott while the NRL integrity unit investigates his involvement in an alleged brawl.

The 23-year-old has been stood down indefinitely from all club duties after Raiders bosses found out about the incident through the media a week after it is alleged to have happened at a Canberra nightclub.

It has left Scott's NRL career in the balance just 18 months after he joined the Raiders from Melbourne.

Since then he has endured a dramatic stint with Canberra.

He was tasered by NSW police on Australia Day last year and charged with resisting arrest before the case was thrown out in court.

Papalii, who is set to make his return from a three-week ban against Brisbane on Saturday, said he has spoken to Scott via text to make sure he is OK.

"I've made plenty of mistakes in my career, I've been to plenty of court cases myself and done things I'm not happy about," Papalii said.

"I can't judge other people, I don't know what other people are going through.

"I feel for the bloke. This is just a mistake he has to cop on the chin, come in and work hard and grind away."

Ex-skipper Josh Hodgson said he has also spoken with Scott as he deals with his latest off-field troubles.

"He's obviously not great, I'm not sure what will come of it," Hodgson said.

"He's a great kid, Scotty, and he reminds me a lot of myself when I was younger.

"I've got a lot of feel for him, he's a really good lad and everyone who talks about him says that.

"We spend a lot of time together as a team, we're all mates and if your mates can't have your back, who can?

"We've just got to make sure Scotty's all right, keep around him and keep his chin up and what will be will be.

"We can be there for him as a mate and that's what we're trying to do as a team."

The incident comes as another unwanted drama for the Raiders, who sit 13th on the ladder.

Already this season Hodgson stepped down from his captaincy suddenly, while George Williams is in a stand off with the Raiders over his recent release.
