There are always some wild hats on Melbourne Cup day but this year it seemed the bigger the better. If it rained she'd be fine for a while but it would end in disaster.

These two are leading the charge for the wackier costumes this year. That hat is a balancing act.

One of the stranger moments of the Cup was watching Geoffrey Edelsten walkin in in this yellow suit beside Gabi Grecko in whatever this thing is. It got weirder though when he got down on one knee and proposed in front of the cameras. She said yes.

You are never too old to throw on some colour, a hat and some heels and tear up the Melboure Cup. Hat's off to thesse fine ladies.
