Caulfield Cup Carnival and The Everest LIVE on Seven

Seven’s LIVE coverage of the Caulfield Cup Carnival begins this weekend, launching off in style with Caulfield Guineas Day. Saturday’s coverage also features the world’s richest race on turf, The Everest from Randwick.

A cracking field has been assembled for the Caulfield Guineas to kick start the Caulfield Cup Carnival. Guineas favourite Royal Symphony has attracted plenty of attention this week after some confusion at the barrier draw and the addition of winkers in trackwork.

THE EVEREST: Race favourite She Will Reign draws barrier two

The prestigious Caulfield Guineas Day sees four Group 1 events unfold - Caulfield Stakes, Caulfield Guineas, the Thousand Guineas and the Toorak Handicap with a record nine international horses aiming to take out a chunk of the increased prize money for the day.

The Everest at Royal Randwick with a purse of $10 million boasts a star-studded field including the world’s best sprinter Chautauqua, Vega Magic aiming for five wins on the trot, and race favourite and Golden Slipper winner She Will Reign.

Seven’s coverage will be hosted by Bruce McAvaney, with expert analysis from Richard Freedman, Melbourne Cup-winning jockey Michelle Payne and trainer Matt Cumani. Jason Richardson also hosts and brings news throughout the Carnival, with James Jordan on the ground providing form analysis. Rachael Finch, Emma Davenport and Grace Ramage are reporting on the colour from around the tracks.

Then, on Saturday October 21, one of the world’s richest handicaps and one of the biggest races of the year, the Caulfield Cup is LIVE on Seven. Joining the team will be Hamish McLachlan, who will be reporting from around Caulfield Racecourse.

As the free-to-air home of thoroughbred horseracing Seven broadcasts every major meeting on the Australian calendar including the Magic Millions, Sydney Easter Carnival, Stradbroke Handicap, WS Cox Plate, and the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
