Aussie jockey detained at Malaysian airport

Controversial Australian jockey Noel Callow has been detained at a Malaysian airport after attempting to leave the country with another man's passport.

The 41-year-old passed the first security check but his incorrect passport was eventually noticed at the boarding checkpoint.

He was attempting to leave the country using disqualified trainer Shane Edwards' passport.

Callow attempted to get away from security guards when the issue was noticed, starting an altercation in which he was injured.

The incident occurred on August 18 and Callow hopes to leave Malaysia in the next two days.

Callow was reportedly using Edwards' passport as he has taxation issues in the country, and hadn't correctly filled out his paperwork.

Racing Victoria will not allow Callow to take another ride until he faces them.

It is expected he will receive a fine from Malaysian courts.
