Michelle Payne reveals incredible post-surgery scar

Melbourne Cup-winning jockey Michelle Payne has taken to social media to show off her incredible scar following a career-threatening fall.

The star jockey went under the knife for pancreatic surgery recently after the May fall in Mildura.

She has kept fans regularly informed throughout her recovery with Instagram and Twitter updates, posting the following picture of her scar:

Payne remains in positive spirits, saying she still has the "fire in the belly" to return to racing.

"The main thing is to get better but at this stage I still have the fire in the belly for another spring carnival," Payne said recently.

"A binder will help protect my organs and the scar for the next month or when I start training again."

After having three-quarters of her pancreas removed, it was feared Payne would be forced to give up her career in the saddle.
