Race 1 - 12:30PM Maribyrnong Trial Stakes (1000 METRES)
Two-year-old first starters. Sweet Sherry has had just the one trial trained by Brent Stantley and ridden by Damian Oliver, drawn well to be in the finish. Manuel won his only race trial in South Australia and has made the trip over to Victoria with genuine claims. Rylea Lass is one for exotics.
Race 2 - 1:05PM Poseidon Stakes (1400 METRES)
The grey 3-year-old gelding Top Me Up is suited in this race and may lead, top hope. One for One looked good when finishing third to Celtic Tiger at Morphettville. Expect a forward showing. This race is suitable for a horse that will be of value. Won last start and is from top stable of Hayes/Dabering.
Race 3 - 1:40PM Gilgai Stakes (1200 METRES)
Chautauqua top sprinter is the one to beat and would be surprised if it beaten. Churchill Dancer is in peak form and is the logical danger. Knoydart is resuming and can run well fresh, a place chance.
Race 4 - 2:15PM UCI Stakes (1800 METRES)
The Michael Moroney trained Tivaci is suited here and will be hard to beat. Iron Boss has claims on its last start win. More Than Perfect was caught three wide last start and is a roughies hope.
Race 5 - 2:50PM TAB Edward Manifold Stakes (1600 METRES)
Good run by Badawiya at The Valley last start, Flemington track suits and expect improvement. Sacred Eye will be in the finish and deserves the favourite tag. My Poppette is the best of the rest and should run a great race in this company.
Race 6 - 3:30PM The Bart Cummings (2520 METRES)
Trainer of Foundry Robert Hickmott decided to by-pass the Metropolitan at Randwick and head to Victoria for this race. Has the form and is hard to beat. Let's Make a Deal is a quality galloper who is suited in this race. Will improve on her last run and is a chance. De Little Engine was great first-up behind Iggimacool and the extra distance is ideal.
Race 7 - 4:10PM Yellowglen Turnbull Stakes (2000 METRES)
Oaks winner Set Square is at great value in the Turnbull. May just need the run and is aimed for the Caulfield Cup, yet should run a great race. Rising Romance is the next best to beat was excellent in its second to Fawkner in the Makybe Diva. Weary is suited to race at Flemington and should forgive last run. Will be one making ground late.
Race 8 - 4:50PM Blazer Stakes (1400 METRES)
Hazard is drawn wide again, but the extra distance is ideal. Madam Gangster reared at the start and finished well back last time. Can forgive last run, has plenty of ability. Girl Guide will be a runner at good value and expect it to run a good race, extra distance suits.
Race 9 - 5:25PM Paris Lane Stakes (1400 METRES)
Worthy Cause is suited in this grade and distance top pick. Chivalry is ready to show his best and good value. Sir Andrew will be big odds however is expected to run a big race. Likes running at Flemington.
