Regarding Terravista: “He is still a bit soft in condition, everyone could see that in the enclosure.

“He is carrying a fair bit of pudding but there is good improvement in him and we are looking forward to a big spring with him.

On the win: “He has got an amazing turn of foot this horse. That is his big ace and it was there for all to see today.

“He got a little tired late but it was just good to see that acceleration back.”

In transit thoughts: “I just leave it to Hughie (Bowman). He is a pretty versatile horse. He sat up on the pace in the trials and I thought he might today but he wasn’t lightning away but the pace was pretty good.”

“He has got the same personality as the horse, both are very laid back and really casual. They suit each other. It is a good match and a match that is going to continue.”

Future Plans: “His next run will be the Manikato and then into the Darley. Whether we go beyond that and go on to Hong Kong well that is something to be decided as we progress through the preparation.

“I was really happy with his brother too. I thought Tiger Tees ran really well first up. It is good to see him back, he is a bit of a warrior. Rock Sturdy ran a nice race too for a horse looking for a mile.”

Winning Jockey: Hugh Bowman

On his confidence levels: “I’ve got a lovely book of rides today. I’ve been in the placings a few times but I’ve still got some good ones left but I thought this guy was the pick of my rides today and he hasn’t disappointed.”

On the last preparation: “Look he didn’t race to level we know he can. For one reason or another he just didn’t show his best but he’s come out here and won this race last year.”

“All would suggest he’s on track to defend his Darley Classic in Melbourne.”

On the gate and in running: “Yeah he’s a straight forward horse, easy to ride and he’s a very relaxed animal. You can see him here now, doesn’t turn a hair.”

“When you feel for him, when you need him he’s like a genuine V8 or an F1 should I say. He really does have an engine.”

“It’s a privilege to ride a horse like him.”

Beaten Jockeys:
Brenton Avdulla (Rebel Dane): “Everything went our way today, the winner quickened through really well, my bloke kept trying his guts out. He’s probably the second best we’ve got at the moment.”

Tommy Berry (Tiger Tees): “That was a super run from him I was very pleased to see him back in good order. He got quite tired late and obviously he’ll appreciate the sting out.”

Kathy O'hara (Famous Seamus): “Good effort from him I just think he’s probably looking for a bit further nowadays.”

James Mcdonald (Generalife): “Nice return from him so hopefully he’ll show good improvement moving forward.”

Jason Collett (Rock Sturdy): “Second up today, he didn’t quite have the zip he had first up. Still a good run though.”

Glyn Schofield (That's A Good Idea): “He showed good speed and showed a bit of determination, nice run.”
