Punter wins $500,000 on insane $200 NBA multi

An Australian NBA fan is suddenly $500,000 richer after a nine-leg bet on a single game got up on Monday.

The Sportsbet punter plonked $200 on a nine-leg multi involving eight different players in the Portland Trail Blazers’ clash with the San Antonio Spurs.

Four Blazers and four Spurs needed to reach certain scoring marks, while one of those San Antonio players also needed to pull down a bunch of rebounds.

Here’s how it went for the Portland stars:

  • Damian Lillard over 26.5 points – scored 37 points

  • CJ McCollum over 20.5 points – scored 24 points

  • Al-Farouq Aminu over 8.5 points – scored 20 points

  • Jusuf Nurkic over 14.5 points – scored 16 points

And the Spurs:

  • DeMar DeRozan over 23.5 points – scored 36 points

  • LaMarcus Aldridge over 18.5 points – scored 29 points

  • Rudy Gay over 13.5 points – scored 18 points

  • Patty Mills over 9.5 points – scored 15 points

  • DeRozan over 5.5 rebounds – recorded eight rebounds

As you can see, the punter barely had any trouble.

Nurkic, scoring 16 points, was perhaps the toughest but he passed the 14.5 line with nearly six minutes left in the fourth quarter.

The NBA fan didn’t even need to sweat on his last leg – DeRozan grabbing at least six rebounds.

The former Toronto guard, whose average of 5.6 boards per game this season is the highest in his career, recorded his sixth with 1:19 left in the third quarter!

Oh, and for the record, San Antonio won the game 131-118.
