Former Chelsea and Everton winger Pat Nevin, writing for the BBC Football Extra newsletter:
Inspired by a newly reinvigorated Marcus Rashford and young Kobbie Mainoo - another local in-house product - the Manchester United of yore turned up against Wolves this week with their flowing attacking football and floods of goals including a classic last-minute winner.
We have been here before however. How many times have we watched this movie franchise, only for the next episode to turn out to be a dry, boring turkey?
But no, this time they came out all guns blazing for a 3-0 win against West Ham. Suddenly there was deliverance and a place in the top six. Maybe Erik ten Hag has finally found the answer, and the bright new dawn has finally arrived.
United fans are not stupid. They know it is probably best to wait a few more games before getting carried away, but it was a very heartening week with youngsters Rasmus Hojlund (who turned 21 yesterday), Alejandro Garnacho (19) and Mainoo (18) all scoring and playing well.
It is pretty clear now what the future should look like at United and the type of young, hungry players that should be pulling on those famous red shirts every week.
