Homicide squad detectives are investigating after a man died following an incident in Melbourne's west.

Police were called to Station Place at Sunshine about 3.45pm on Thursday over reports a male was injured.

The man later died, with the homicide squad called in to determine the circumstances of the death.

Police are yet to reveal details about the dead man.

They urged anyone with information about the death to contact them.
