'The players lacked desire & got what was deserved - a tanking'
I was delighted to get Oasis tickets. And that's as good as the weekend got.
Last week, I said Sunday's match would indicate where Rangers currently are. And, let's be honest, we are a million miles away.
But we all knew this was coming; I certainly did not expect a result at a place where we regularly go and crumble.
You could go over the three goals and pick out the multitude of mistakes made in there, or talk about a decent 10 minutes. But what really is the point?
It's like watching the same movie over and over. The same errors, the same goals conceded and quite frankly watching a Celtic team seemingly wanting it more is totally unacceptable.
That comes from the players and their lack of desire. If you go into these games lacking desire these results will happen, and we got what we deserved on Sunday - a tanking. Kris Boyd's rant on Sky Sports was spot on. It's embarrassing.
We haven't laid a glove on Celtic for a long time in terms of meaningful results. It feels like we won't do that for a while yet. Spare me the rebuild and young team chat. It doesn't wash. I've spoken about the manager not being backed in the market with quality additions, and on Sunday it was out there laid bare.
We had to cut the wage bill because of previous mismanagement by the board and Ross Wilson regarding recruitment and today it feels like we are back in pre-Gerrard days. I hope the board can sleep tonight because this shambolic state we are in both on and off the park is all their own doing.
As for the management and players, it's not good enough. We are into the blind faith stage that Rangers can come back from the international break and fall into some kind of winning run. It looks like things will get worse before they get better.
The only trophy it looks like we will be winning this year is the 'We significantly cut the wage bill' trophy. Maybe the chairman and co can sit that on their benches outside Edmiston House.
If you want to be ultra positive you could say this is short-term pain for long-term gain. Right now that long-term gain seems light years away.
