The Perth Lynx have moved quickly after Sami Whitcomb's surprise departure, signing star American forward Asia Taylor for the 2018/19 WNBL season.
The Lynx were dealt a huge blow last week when two-time club MVP Whitcomb informed the club she would be leaving for Europe.
Whitcomb had signed a two-year contract extension just last year at the Lynx, but it included an 'out' clause if she received a guaranteed deal in Europe.
American Courtney Williams, having scored 41 points last season in a game for the Lynx, is another high-profile player who has left the club.
But Lynx fans were given some good news on Wednesday when it was confirmed Taylor would be joining the team.
Taylor had played over the past two seasons for the Sydney Uni Flames, and was named both times in the WNBL's All-Star Five.
The 185cm forward averaged 17.5 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game during her stint at Sydney Uni, and was the leading scorer in the Flames' 2016/17 WNBL Championship team.
Taylor has also played with WNBA outfits Minnesota Lynx, Connecticut Sun and, more recently, the Washington Mystics.
Taylor joins Australian Opals point guard Lauren Mansfield as the only two players to be signed to the Lynx roster.
The Lynx won a franchise record 14-straight games last season to top the table, but were bundled out of the semi-finals in straight sets by the Melbourne Boomers.
A controversial fixture schedule in which Lynx players endured seven flights in eight days played a big part in their semi-final flop.
