The perfume an individual chooses to wear says a lot about them, so it's no surprise that we're intrigued by the scents that the rich and famous spritz on before before gracing the world with their presence.
While there's no shortage of celebrity-endorsed fragrances on the market – indeed, many of them have their own – what we're most interested in are the scent choices they make in their everyday lives; the perfumes they turn to for a dose of confidence and comfort. A-listers have access to the finest brands around, not to mention fragrance houses that are more than happy to concoct a bespoke blend, which means we're likely to unearth some hidden gems in their collections.

While in London for the UK leg of her Renaissance tour, Beyoncé reportedly snuck into the Harrods beauty hall after hours to stock up on some favourites. Her scent of choice has been revealed to be Angels' Share by Kilian: a classic from the brand's liquor-themed line-up.
An ode to the heady fruit notes of cognac – and a nod to founder Kilian Hennessy's family business – the gourmand fragrance blends warm vanilla and cinnamon spice over a smooth base of sandalwood, making for a truly intoxicating trail.

Like many a royal (and royal portrayer), Helen Mirren has declared her adoration for British perfume house Jo Malone publicly. "My perfume is Jo Malone. I love all the Jo Malone perfumes. They're wonderful," she told Harper's Bazaar UK in her Inside My Beauty Bag video. "They're just nice and light, they don't overpower anyone."

Eagle-eyed fans spotted a bottle of Tom Ford's Santal Blush in amongst Swift's belongings in the background of a clip from her Miss Americana documentary; it's a fragrance she's reported to have worn since the days of her Reputation tour. Fans invited to attend secret Reputation sessions also seemingly confirmed the singer's scent of choice.

The Liverpudlian actress has mentioned her staple perfume is none other than Le Labo Santal 33. "I was working with someone years ago who wore it and I thought it was delicious, so I copied her – and now it's mine!" she admitted, laughing, in an episode of Inside My Beauty Bag. "I'd always know where she'd been in the hotel or where she was in the vicinity because I always smelt her before I saw her. I think it smells different on everyone"

The model and founder of skincare brand Rhode is a big fan of the elegant bouquet of jasmine and peonies in Ex Nihilo Fleur Narcotique. "It's the scent that I've actually been wearing for a few years and I find myself always going back to," she told Bazaar.

Skincare enthusiast Elizabeth Olsen is a fan of subtler fragrances, particularly Diptyque's Philosykos – a creamy fig scent. "I'm not one for perfumes, they often give me a headache," she tells Bazaar, which is why a roll-on or balm is a great alternative as it sits closer to the skin. They also often smell gentler than their spray-on counterparts. "I prefer the fig from Diptyque and that's the only kind of scent I use."

One of the things that makes Adele so adored is her authenticity, so it's perhaps unsurprising that the singer has remained loyal to her favourite perfume since she was in her early teens with Dior's Hypnotic Poison. Leaving a soft amber vanilla fragrance in its wake, we can see why Adele has kept this perfume on her dressing table all this time.

From Jennifer Lawrence to André Leon Talley, so many A-listers have commented on just how good Rihanna smells, sparking a global debate over which fragrance she wears. The bottle in question was recently revealed to be Love, Don't Be Shy by Kilian: a sweet, suitably decadent gourmand blend of neroli and marshmallow. (Although, no doubt she wears her own Fenty Eau de Parfum now, too.)

Speaking on her platform Rose Inc., Rosie Huntington-Whiteley shared not one but five of her favourite perfumes. The fragrance that stole the coveted top spot? Byredo's Gypsy Water. The model and beauty entrepreneur shared that the woody aromatic perfume is her "all-time ultimate fragrance".

Huntington-Whitely also disclosed Jo Malone's Lime Basil and Mandarin as another one of her treasured fragrances. "I find myself picking this up often when I'm in need of a little bit of comfort," she added.

A niche entry, Histoires de Parfums's 1969 has earned its place as one of Angelina Jolie's favourite scents. It's a unisex fragrance with opening notes of peach, which gives way to cardamom and clove, and leaves a lingering gourmand trail of dark chocolate and coffee.

Victoria Beckham shared her adoration for the fragrance Room Service by niche perfumers Vilhelm Parfumerie, calling it "super chic" on Instagram.
Combining fresh mandarin and blackberry with a comforting musk base, the fragrance was created to capture the glamour of Hollywood in a bottle – think Marilyn Monroe drinking cocktails at the Beverly Hills Hotel in her heyday.

Another Jo Malone London convert, Cynthia Erivo shared how she came across the Myrrh & Tonka Cologne by fate in an airport duty-free when she was went with the motive of buying something else. Since then she's been inseparable from the scent, which has notes of vanilla, tonka bean and myrrh; a perfect fragrance for autumnal evenings.

Before a race, gold medalist sprinter Dina-Asher Smith is known to spritz on some perfume. Her go-to is the ultra-luxe Moonlight Patchouli by Van Cleef and Arpels. "I'm big on scent," she shares with Bazaar.

Not only does Emma Stone wear Chanel's Les Exclusifs de Chanel Gardénia, she apparently sprays it before she goes to bed to help her fall asleep. With white floral and green accords from notes of orange blossom, gardenia and tuberose, those with a nose for delicate scents will appreciate this fragrance.

If you've ever wondered what a supermodel smells like, its Dior Diorissimo. At least, that's the case if you're Naomi Campbell. The British supermodel shared her affection for the classic scent at the 2018 Fragrance Foundation Awards, saying: "I love florals, florals that linger and that's what lily of the valley does. It lingers all night long."

The beauty products thought to be used by Princess Diana have taken on legacy of their own, the interest only growing as the years go on, and her choice of fragrance is no different. There were actually multiple scents that the late princess had on rotation; her butler Paul Burrell revealed that Hermès 24 Faubourg was Diana's favourite perfume, while her love of Penhaligon's Bluebell has also been widely reported.

The model and former Bazaar cover star revealed her signature perfume is by Chloé, having stated: "I cannot live without my Chloé perfume." We don't blame her, as the distinctively dreamy feminine fragrance lends itself perfectly to a signature scent.

In an interview with Bazaar, Arterton revealed her go-to scent is the classic Acqua di Parma Colonia Essenza. "I love it because it's really fresh and citrusy, but not sharp or heavy," she said. "It reminds me of fresh laundry. People know I love it so much that every Christmas I get gifted the matching candle."

While Alexa was also once a Santal 33 devotee, she's now a big fan of Regime des Fleur Rock River Melody, designed by her friend, the stylist and editor Christopher Niquet. The ambery, green scent has the "best name of anything ever," says Chung. "It smells like a smokey-ish bar, but it also smells opulent."

Kate Bosworth is a loyal fan of the Swedish fragrance house Byredo and the celebrated Gypsy Water is her signature scent. In conversation with Into the Gloss, she said: "The scents are beautiful and complex and sexy and innocent. There are such incredible layers to what he does. I’m a loyalist with my scents.”

The Duchess of Sussex previously claimed wear Jo Malone London's Wild Bluebell perfume as her everyday fragrance. It's light and fresh and is one of two of her 'signature' scents, which she revealed on her past blog The TIG. For evening occasions she cited her love of the Bulgari Blv II perfume.

Sarandon revealed to us that she, like Gemma Arterton, is a fan of fragrances that are considered more masculine. "I don't have a signature scent as such, but I prefer masculine scents like sandalwood – Eva from the Italian perfumer Santa Maria Novella is a favourite. I tend to adopt a new perfume when I take on a new role. For instance Bal à Versailles by Jean Desprez was referred to in Twilight, a movie I did with Paul Newman, so I wore that when filming."
