'NRL is by far tougher': Paul Gallen takes dig at AFL ahead of Barry Hall fight

Paul Gallen has taken a swipe at AFL legend Barry Hall ahead of the ‘Code War’ boxing fight.

The Sharks great took to Instagram to reveal his plans ahead of the bout taking place at Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne.

But Gallen did his best to build up the ‘Code War’ between the NRL and AFL after labelling rugby league as the “far tougher” sport.

He also revealed his training regime for his taller opponent.

“Flying out to train in the UK to prepare to knock [Barry] Hall out, and the @afl bandwagon thinking he can win,” he wrote.

@nrl is by far a tougher sport.

“Got some tall timber lined up to spar. Barry boxed when he was a kid. I’m gonna [sic] sort the men out from the boys!”

Gallen retired from NRL following the Sharks’ exit.
