Patrick Dangerfield in 'king hit' drama at Victorian beach

Patrick Dangerfield has reportedly broken up a scuffle while surfing at Fairhaven Beach in Victoria.

The Herald Sun and 3AW both reported on Tuesday that the Geelong Cats star intervened after his cousin was allegedly ‘king hit’ 11 days ago.

Dangerfield’s cousin reportedly had his surfboard smashed during a confrontation with another surfer.

The AFL star is said to have missed the initial incident, but came to break up the fracas afterwards.

“Police are investigating an assault between two surfers at Fairhaven Beach about 9am on 2 February,” Victoria Police told the Herald Sun.

“The victim, a 29-year-old from Aireys Inlet, sustained minor facial injuries during the incident.

“The investigation remains ongoing.”

Dangerfield returned home to play for Geelong in 2016 after eight years with the Adelaide Crows.
