Oslo athletics meet postponed due to virus

The Diamond League athletics meeting in Oslo on June 10 has been postponed, organisers say, as it is "impossible to arrange a normal meeting on the planned date" based on the coronavirus reopening plan for Norway.

Norway's government issued its plan to restart activity amid the pandemic on Wednesday and organisers said "an international meeting such as the Bislett Games will probably not be possible before the middle or towards the end of June at the earliest".

A repeat of last year's 'Impossible Games', which included socially distanced or rarely contested events, has been ruled out.

A new date is being considered, either early July prior to the rearranged Tokyo Olympics or afterwards in August.

The Diamond League board said it was currently clarifying the start to the season which is scheduled to open in Morocco's Rabat on May 23.
