Original accuser against Colleen Ballinger, aka Miranda Sings, responds to her 10-minute video denying allegations: 'The mask has slipped'
Colleen Ballinger, who goes by the YouTube moniker Miranda Sings, shared a video on June 28 addressing the recent controversy surrounding allegations that she had inappropriate relationships with underage fans.
The 10-minute video, titled “hi,” featured 36-year-old Ballinger playing the ukulele and explained that she’d be singing her video because her team “strongly advised” her “not to say what I want to say.”
“A lot of people are saying some things about me that aren’t quite true,” she sang. “You guys having fun? All aboard the toxic gossip train, chugging down the tracks of misinformation.”
Reddit users pointed out that the length of the apology video was notable because YouTube monetizes videos that are at least eight minutes long. The YouTube algorithm also prioritizes longer videos.
Former Miranda Sings fan Adam McIntyre has been at the forefront of the allegations against Ballinger and first posted a YouTube video about their relationship in 2020. He claimed that she made him work for free, sent him unworn lingerie and made him uncomfortable with “adult” conversations when he was only 13 years old.
McIntyre started posting more videos in early June that sparked an onslaught of other fans stepping forward to share their uncomfortable interactions with Ballinger — particularly about how she interacted with underage fans at live shows.
During the song, Ballinger added that she “made some jokes in poor taste” and “lots of dumb mistakes” but called any accusations that referred to her as a “groomer” or “predator” false.

“The only thing I’ve ever groomed is my two Persian cats. I’m not a groomer,” she sang. “I’m just a loser who didn’t understand I shouldn’t respond to fans.”
She added that the character of Miranda Sings has “always been” PG-13.
“You won’t find my videos on the YouTube Kids app,” she said. “I didn’t realize it was my responsibility to decide what was appropriate for every kid to see. I’ve always relied on parents to decide if they’re comfortable with their families watching my YouTube videos or coming to my live shows.”
One of the viral accusations in early June against Ballinger was from a former fan who detailed her experience participating in one of the live shows. The fan, who goes by Becky on TikTok, said she was picked for a segment that required her to lie down in front of Ballinger as Ballinger “spread my legs basically as far as she can.”
“I was laying under Colleen and she was smirking down at me while thousands of people were laughing,” Becky recalled. “I was terrified that my body wasn’t covered enough.”
McIntyre addressed the new video in a tweet saying he was “glad” Ballinger posted the response.
“As much as colleen discredited & made fun of me, im glad her video did ONE thing, show you all EXACTLY the type of evil woman she is, that a lot of us have experienced over the past few years behind the scenes,” he wrote. “The mask has slipped … everyone meet the REAL colleen ballinger.”
In the hours following Ballinger’s video, numerous social media users have responded to her song, with most saying she wasn’t taking the allegations seriously.
Colleen Ballinger really thought singing “I’m not a groomer I’m just a loser” was a cute way to respond to the very SERIOUS allegations that’ve been levied against her and…it’s beyond sick. pic.twitter.com/0Push2Pjww

i am in AWE of the fact that when colleen ballinger went silent for a month after the (proven) grooming allegations resurfaced, everyone was like "be careful [victim], silence means she's lawyering up!" when in reality she spent that time writing a 10 minute ukelele diss track 😀

Some accused her of scrubbing comments off of the video as well.
