US gymnast strips off on parallel bars

US gymnast Danell Leyva gave the audience a show at the post-competition gala, stripping on the parallel bars to Pitball's 'Fireball'.

Leyva, who had won silver medals in high bar and parallel bars, used the gala as an opportunity to celebrate his success at this years' Olympics.

However what he did on the parallel bars was completely unexpected.

After riling up the fans with a few dance moves and tricks on the bars, Leyva proceeded to take off his leotard and slide it down to his waist.

Half-naked, he continued to dance before performing an impressive concoction of twists and somersaults, landing back on the ground to a loud cheer from the crowd.

Now holding two Olympic medals, Leyva wasn’t even meant to compete in the Rio Games after a injuries from a dog bite slowed his preparation.

He didn’t make the original cut but was added to the squad when one of his countrymen injured his knee last month.
