The 2024 Grammys, hosted by Trevor Noah, are airing live from the Crypto.com Arena on CBS
The 20-year-old singer-songwriter took the stage at the annual music awards show on Sunday to deliver a powerful performance of the lead single "Vampire" from her latest album Guts.
Wearing a sleek red dress and matching red lipstick, Rodrigo began the performance with just a piano playing behind her, as red splashes appeared on a screen behind her.
Eventually, the screen behind Rodrigo began to ooze out red liquid, as fake blood appeared on the singer herself, who closed the performance surrounded by red imagery.
Rodrigo received six nominations at this year's Grammy Awards: record of the year, song of the year and best pop solo performance for the chart-topping "Vampire," album of the year and best pop vocal album for Guts, as well as best rock song for "Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl."
Shortly after the 2024 Grammy nominees were announced, the "Drivers License" musician detailed her reaction to PEOPLE in a November interview at the Los Angeles premiere of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
“Yeah. So insane. It's just such an honor and such a pleasure to be recognized by the music community in such an incredible way,” Rodrigo said at the time. “I'm very grateful.”
The High School Musical: The Musical: The Series alum also said watching so many friends get nominated is "half the fun," adding, "Honestly, sometimes that's more exciting than you getting nominated. [You are] just so proud of everyone that you love."
"Noah Kahan got nominated for best new artist, and we were so excited," said Rodrigo. "I was so excited that he got nominated. He was so excited that I got nominated. So it's just a wonderful sharing of the love."
Following the release of her debut album Sour in 2021, Rodrigo earned her first three Grammy Awards at the 2022 ceremony. She won best pop vocal album for Sour, best pop solo performance for the No. 1 hit "Drivers License" and best new artist.
