OFFICIAL: Burton Albion sign Nigeria’s Hope Akpan

Hope Akpan has signed a one-year contract with English Championship side, Burton Albion.

The Pirelli Stadium outfit announced the arrival of the Super Eagles midfielder following the expiration of his contract with relegated Blackburn Rovers.

The former Crawley Town, Everton, Hull City and Reading player who scored just a goal in 25 appearances for the Rovers last season, becomes the sixth signing for the Brewers this summer.

Akpan made his debut appearance on the same day of his signing as the Nigel Clough's men cruised to a 2-1 win over Solihull Moors at the Damson Park.
