Shocking moment fan brutally sucker punches old man

An American NFL fan has been arrested after disgraceful vision emerged of him sucker punching a much older spectator.

The ugly incident occurred during Friday's game between the Carolina Panthers and Philadelphia Eagles, and is a sobering reminder of why, for many NFL fans, the TV experience is far preferable to the in-person one.

As you can see above, spectators begin arguing before the younger man unleashes a shocking barrage of punches to a 62-year-old man's face, leaving him bloodied.

The person who filmed the video noted in his caption the guy who had thrown the punches had been standing for the entire game, repeatedly ignoring the requests from fans behind them to sit down.

The Panthers released a statement on Friday afternoon saying they had identified the perpetrator and were working with local authorities to pursue charges.

The Panthers and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department worked quickly to arrest the man, announcing on Saturday that Kyle Adam Maraghy was charged with simple assault and was being brought to jail.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a video of violence in the stands of an NFL game.

It is reassuring that the team and law enforcement took the incident quite seriously and worked rapidly to make an arrest. Hopefully that deters the next NFL fan fight in the stands.
