Horrific NFL spear tackle goes unpunished

A savage spear tackle has gone unpunished in the NFL.

Jacksonville’s Bryan Walters made a break against Baltimore over the weekend before he was brought to an abrupt halt when he was dumped on his head by Ravens safety Will Hill.

The defender tipped him up before slamming him on his head and shoulder.

A similar tackle in one of Australia’s two rugby codes would have seen Hill on the sidelines for several weeks, but because the tackle is still legal in the NFL he walked away unpunished.
