Odell Beckham Jr hangs on to 'crazy' one-handed catch

Odell Beckham likes that far sideline in MetLife Stadium.

Beckham’s celebrity exploded with a famous one-handed catch when he was with the New York Giants. It’s one of the greatest plays in NFL history.

Beckham returned to MetLife Stadium on Monday night, as a member of the Cleveland Browns to face the New York Jets, and he had a catch that wasn’t quite the same, but still pretty darn impressive. And in about the same exact spot.

Odell Beckham Jr.’s catch looked familiar

On the Browns’ first drive of the game, Baker Mayfield threw down the sideline to his right. Beckham made a great one-handed catch for 33 yards down to the 4-yard line.

That catch happened in nearly the exact same spot as his trademark one-handed catch against the Dallas Cowboys. That catch happened in 2014.

Beckham, ever the showman (as shown by him wearing a $2 million watch in pregame warmups on Monday night), wanted to give the “Monday Night Football” crowd a repeat performance.

Needless to say, a repeat effort in nearly the exact same spot had football fans going absolutely wild on social media.

Field catches fire in Tennessee

On Sunday, the pregame celebration for the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium went sideways – literally.

The Titans used flame-throwing boxes to shoot fire into the air before kickoff of their game against AFC South rival Indianapolis, but one of them tipped over toward the stands, setting the turf on fire.

Luckily it didn’t take long for fire extinguishers to put the flame out, but it of course left behind a large charred spot on the sideline.

UPDATE (6:05 p.m. ET): The Titans provided this statement on the incident -

“Following the pregame introductions today, there was a mechanical failure by one of the pyrotechnic devices which resulted in a fire. The vendor will be required by the state of Tennessee to undergo an inspection for the defective device and the others that were used to determine the final cause. The field staff acted quickly to extinguish the fire, which resulted in no injuries and minor field damage.”
