Neymar has revealed his desire to play with Lionel Messi again as the Barcelona captain prepares to enter the final six months of his contract.

Messi’s current deal at Barcelona is due to expire next summer and he is still yet to agree fresh terms.

Interest in the six-time Ballon d’Or winner is naturally high, with Manchester City monitoring his situation after tracking him during the most recent transfer window.

Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain are also chasing the 33-year-old, who would be available for free from July.

A move to PSG would see Messi reunited with Neymar, with whom he formed a lethal partnership at Barca from 2013 to 2017.

Neymar is desperate for a reunion with Messi and has told the Argentina international that they must play together next season.

“What I want most of all is to play with Messi again, to be able to enjoy him once again on the pitch,” Neymar told ESPN after scoring twice in PSG’s 3-1 win over Manchester United.

“He can play in my place, I have no problem with that! But I want to play with him next year, for sure. We have to do it next season.”
