Wayne Rooney slaps WWE star

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney took criticism of his side a bit too hard when he slapped 6ft 7in WWE star King Barrett.

The England striker attended the WWE Raw show along with Old Trafford assistant coach Ryan Giggs and former teammate Darren Fletcher in Manchester today.

But things turned heated for Rooney as he arrived at his ringside seats with his six-year-old son Kai.

That’s when Barrett took aim at Rooney and Manchester United saying “In this ring are two men who can easily be described as championship material. Which is, of course, more than can be said of Wayne Rooney and Manchester United.”

He wasn't done there either.

"I'd hate for your little boy to sit there and watch his own father fail. Because let's face it, he gets to experience that every single time you step on a football pitch."

Rooney then rose from his chair to challenge Barrett to a fight.

Moments later he landed an inch perfect slap across the wrestler’s face, much to the delight of the home crowd.

Off course, this was all scripted.
