Wales rugby star Ian Gough fined for pushing beaty queen ex

Wales international rugby player Ian Gough pushed his glamorous ex-girlfriend several days after she was engaged to pop sensation Dane Bowers, and now he's paying the price.

The powerhouse lock has been ordered to pay 2130 pounds (AU$3890) in fines and costs for shoving former Miss Wales Sophia Cahill, days after she got engaged to Bowers.

Gough was found guilty of assault for pushing his beauty queen ex against his van when he dropped off their two-year-old son Gabriel off at her house in London earlier this year.

After a short trial at court last month, the 37-year-old was handed the fine but will appeal against the conviction, his lawyer stated.

Cahill "fled back to the home in tears" she shares with Bowers. The couple were engaged at the beginning of the year.

Bowers is known for his hit duo with Victoria Beckham - 'Out of Your Mind'.

A statement read out on Cahill's behalf said she had suffered anxiety and panic attacks since the incident.

Cahill said she had also been harassmed by Gough and his family on social media.
