Young Manly rising star found dead

Manly are in mourning after the death of one of their young rising stars.

21-year-old Jason Annear was found on a beach just hours after he attended the club's annual presentation dinner, The Daily Telegraph reported.

It is believed Annear was travelling home from the event when he mysteriously died from a suspected cliff fall.

The young Manly up-and-comer was wearing the same outfit he wore to the Manly event, reports said.

Manly remained quiet on the specifics on Annear's death, but released this statement:

"Tragic news for the club today. Out of respect for the family we'll make a statement at a more appropriate time. Thank you for your support."

Sea Eagles forward Darcy Lussick tweeted earlier on Monday afternoon: "Not a good day for the whole manly sea eagles family."

Annear was able to play both half-back and five-eighth and was close to making selection for the senior side in 2012.
