West Coast forward Mark Nicoski has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a hamstring injury.

Nickoski injured his hamstring during the NAB Cup, but a setback at training on Monday led the 28-year-old to declare his year over.

"In the best interests of my 'hammy' and its ability to heal properly, the club and I have chosen to avoid forcing a return this season," Nicoski said on his Twitter account.

"It gives me the opportunity to rest it adequately and ensure 2013 is a successful one for myself and WCE.

"Cheers for all the support on here from fans, you've been amazing. Let's get behind the team for finals!"

The news wasn't all bad for the Eagles, however, with defenders Adam Selwood (arm) and Will Schofield (hamstring) both passed fit and available for selection for Saturday's clash with North Melbourne in Hobart.

Bad luck "Nico" however it's best to get your hammy repaired. Perhaps you could ask WCE for a pay rise like our Pollies. Your doing nothing, so are they.
