Ball boy pulls off incredible catch

It was set up as a clash of the titans - two of tennis's biggest names in Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal out on the centre court of Rod Laver Arena slugging it out.

But, for the briefest of moments, the show was stolen by an incredible catch from an Australian Open ball boy.

Proving that it wasn't just the men holding the tennis racquets that had a few tricks up their sleeve, the youngster stretched out and grasped a ball that Federer had struck out of the court.

This was no easy feat. The former world number one has the ability to strike the ball at over 200km/hr, although thankfully for the youngster the ball came at him at a slightly slower speed.

If the Australian cricket team are looking for a new player to take slips catches, they may have a star of the future on their hands.

This was not the first time at the Australian Open that a ball boy has threatened to steal the limelight on centre court.

A young ball girl became a web sensation after freaking out picking up a cricket during Lleyton Hewitt's first round clash with Cedrik-Marcel Stebe.
