Adelaide Thunderbirds have named former Australia youth team coach Tania Obst to head the Super Netball struggler's team for the next three seasons.
The Thunderbids, who are yet to win a game this season and won just one game in 2017, said Obst was the natural choice to lead them in a new strategic direction.
Dan Ryan was informed last month that his contract would not be extended after it expired at the end of this season with Obst to return to her home state to replace him.
"I can't wait to explore and support the outstanding local talent that exists in South Australia, to invest in the players, nurture and guide them," Obst said in a statement on Monday.
Obst has been assistant coach of Giants Netball for the last two years and was assistant coach of England, who won gold at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
She also coached the Australian under-21 to a silver medal at the 2017 Netball Youth World Cup, and said she was excited to return home to South Australia.
