NBA betting: Bettor turns $6,000 into $60,000 after betting the Bucks to win in 6 after Game 3

A bettor's confidence in the Milwaukee Bucks was rewarded handsomely on Tuesday night.

The Bucks beat the Suns 105-98 in Game 6 to win the NBA Finals thanks in large part to Giannis Antetokounmpo's otherworldly game. Antetokounmpo had 50 points and 14 rebounds as he was 16-of-25 from the field and 17-of-19 from the free-throw line. The performance propelled him to a no-brainer Finals MVP after he returned for the series after suffering a knee injury in the Eastern Conference finals against the Atlanta Hawks.

The Bucks lost the first two games of the series in Phoenix to go down 2-0. After beating the Suns in Game 3, a bettor at BetMGM was very confident that the series would end in three more games. That bettor put $6,000 on the Bucks at +1000 to win the series in six games. Tuesday night, it turned into $60,000 profit.

That six-game win required a win on the road in Game 5. That was the only game a road team won the entire series. Milwaukee won all three of its home games.

Bucks in 6 got up to +1200

The bettor wouldn’t have won much more money had he or she placed the bet after Game 2. Bucks in 6 opened at +450 and went up to +750 after Game 1. That moved up to +1200 after Game 2 and only dropped to +100 after the series became 2-1.

That’s because it would have still required an improbable — but not impossible — six consecutive wins.

The odds of the Bucks winning in six fell dramatically after the series was tied in Game 4. The Bucks were +500 to win in six after that game and then went to -200 after winning on the road in Phoenix.

The most popular series outcome bet at BetMGM was the Suns in six games. Just over 34% of wagers were on the Suns to be hoisting the Larry O’Brien Trophy on Tuesday night.
