We had some interesting news regarding the Houston Rockets and John Wall so that headlines our waiver wire article for this week.

John Wall

Who knows if Wall plays this year, or if he does, when that may be. But, in a Yahoo points league, Wall’s inefficiency isn’t an issue and he was a top 50 player last year.

Bear in mind, last year he played 30 minutes with 32% usage and that won’t happen this season, but he could be a guy if you can put him in IL+.

Darius Bazley

A horrible shooter, but minutes aren’t going anywhere and he is useful enough in a 12 team points format with a solid role.

Tyus Jones

While we wait for a definitive timeline on Ja Morant’s injury, Tyus Jones is worth a grab. He isn’t the high volume player Ja is, but he should see a nice boost in his playing time for as long as Morant is sidelined.

De’Anthony Melton

Melton lost most of his value when Dillon Brooks came back for the Grizzlies, but with Morant out, Melton has another shot. The Grizzlies don’t use Melton as a point guard often, but he will handle the ball more now that Morant is injured.

Marvin Bagley

Bagley is not a good category league player, but in points leagues, his empty points and rebounds can work.

He is only an option because Richaun Holmes, Harrison Barnes, and Moe Harkless are hurt, but you may be able to get a couple of games from Bagley.

Cedi Osman

With Collin Sexton out for the season, Osman has a chance to establish himself in a larger role for the rest of the season. He can be inefficient, but they let him handle the ball sometimes in the second unit and he has improved his shooting.

Jarred Vanderbilt

The Wolves are thriving with Vanderbilt starting, so I doubt that changes anytime soon.

He gets his numbers from defensive stats and rebounds, but that is still enough to be a 12 team option for Yahoo standard points leagues.

Willy Hernangómez

Hernangómez’s recent production is a mirage. He is shooting at crazy levels with higher than usual minutes, but his game does translate to points leagues nicely and can be a short-term flier option to see what happens.

Jeff Green

I don’t think we will see Michael Porter Jr. this week, so Green will get a week of starts with an opportunity to produce. He has stepped up more without Nikola Jokić, and Jokić likely returns next week, but he can still provide value.
