Napoli extend winning streak as Milan draw

Serie A leaders Napoli have extended their Serie A winning streak to 10 games with a 2-0 defeat of visitors Empoli 2-0 thanks to a goal and an assist from substitute Hirving Lozano.

The sides were locked at 0-0 at half-time, with the hosts dominating the first 45 minutes without reward.

Napoli finally broke the deadlock when Mexican Lozano converted a penalty in the 70th minute after Empoli midfielder Razvan Marin tripped Victor Osimhen inside the box.

Empoli's had Sebastiano Luperto sent off after picking up a second yellow card for tripping Lozano in the 74th minute.

Lozano then crossed for Piotr Zielinski, who found the net in the 88th minute.

Napoli remain unbeaten in Serie A and have now recorded 10 successive league wins. They top the table with 38 points after 14 games, eight ahead of AC Milan who fought out a 0-0 draw at Cremonese.

Milan had Olivier Giroud and Theo Hernandez suspended and had trouble finding the target, with the host's goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi swatting away shot after shot from the Rossoneri.

Divock Origi had the ball in the net for Milan, but his effort was ruled out by VAR for offside.

Milan had already failed to win four of their seven away games in Serie A this season after winning all but five of 19 away matches en route to the title last term.

Elsewhere, Udinese and Spezia drew 1-1, with both clubs extending their winless streaks in the league to seven matches.
