Mystery solved: Aaron Rodgers grew his hair out for a John Wick Halloween costume

So far, one of the more subtle mysteries of the 2021 NFL season had been the state of Aaron Rodgers' hair.

The usually short-haired Green Bay Packers quarterback took the field this year with a head of hair flowing out of his helmet with little explanation, until last month when he said it was part of his Halloween costume.

That costume was finally revealed on Halloween, and it's one of the more popular ones out there: John Wick.

Rodgers previously teased the costume on Saturday, tagging Packers left tackle David Bakhtiari as Wick's dog. It's unclear if Rodgers' fiancee Shailene Woodley is similarly dressing up.

Considering Rodgers is basically to Chicago Bears fans what Wick is to Russian gangsters, the whole thing seems pretty apt. As Rodgers explained it on "The Pat McAfee Show" last month, he has been planning the costume for a long time and apparently holds Wick in high regard:

"This has been a year in the making for my costume. I'm not going to give it away, but it's somebody who is a hero of mine who has longish hair."

Rodgers will be able to enjoy the costume as much as he wants to despite Halloween falling on a Sunday this year, as the Packers are off Sunday after their "Thursday Night Football" win against the Arizona Cardinals.
