Ricciardo shifts 'fart-gate' blame onto Hamilton

Daniel Ricciardo has shifted the blame to Lewis Hamilton after a hilarious moment at the Singapore Grand Prix.

The Aussie larrikin had his F1 rivals in stitches with some very questionable antics in the post-race press conference following his podium finish.

As Valtteri Bottas was attempting to answer a question from the media, Ricciardo 'let rip' so to speak, sending Bottas into hysterics.

“Try to keep it together now that this mate next to me just farted," Bottas said as he struggled to find some fresh air.

Ricciardo told Fox Sports he was just stoked that he "got Bottas to laugh".

The 28-year-old Red Bull driver from Perth then threw Mercedes star Hamilton under the bus, saying he also had his own flatulence issues in the press conference.

Ricciardo said the Brit told him he also had to fart.

"He went, I didn't even hear it, I was like 'come on man, stuff it I'm gonna go,'" Ricciardo told Fox Sports.

"It was a good moment."

Hamilton couldn't contain his laughter, especially with Ricciardo grinning from ear to ear right next to him.

Ricciardo was clearly in a jovial mood after again ending up on the podium in Singapore.

The Aussie's second-place finish was his fourth podium there in a row, falling to championship leader Hamilton, with Bottas third.

Ricciardo qualified third ahead of fifth-starter Hamilton, who took the lead on the opening lap when pole-sitter Sebastian Vettel took out Max Verstappen and Kimi Raikkonen in a first corner crash.
