'Terrifying': Moto2 rider's 'scary' escape after crash

Moto2 rider Aron Canet has escaped a crazy crash without serious injury after crawling to safety from the track.

Canet slid out on his bike during qualifying at the Portuguese Grand Prix, but remained on the track.

In a frantic scramble, the Spaniard attempted to get to his feet.

But when he turned around, he noticed up to five riders bearing down at him at unbelievable speed.

The quick-thinking Spaniard was able to quickly crawl out of the way of the first bike, before he scrambled to the edge of the track.

He eventually dived off the track to evade the final rider and escaped serious injury.

Fans on social media couldn’t quite believe Canet was able to avoid injury in the dangerous situation.

Others praised him for his quick reaction time to get up and off the track.

Aussie wins Portuguese GP

Aussie rider Remy Gardner was able to qualify in pole position and deliver on the weekend to take out the GP.

The 22-year-old rider finished the season with his fourth podium finish and signalled exciting things to come.

Gardner later said he was on ‘cloud nine’ after finally getting that 1st position that had alluded him throughout the season.
