One video starts off with her 2-year-old bounding into the room singing “Meeska Mooska Mickey Mouse,” a song from The Mickey Mouse Club that fellow parents in the comments recognized immediately.
The 2-year-old approaches their 3-month sibling and asks, “What are you doing down there?” to which the 3-month-old replies, “Ugh, tummy time, it’s the worst. What’s up?”
The toddler responds, “Well I just wanna touch base because I feel like I’ve been driving this crazy train; I’ve been peeing in hallways, unraveling toilet paper, shoving everything I can find up my nose, and you’ve just been, like, behaving.”
Oof. There’s definitely a reason they call it “the terrible twos.”
After the confrontation from their older sibling, the 3-month-old says, “What about tonight I only give mom 3 hours of sleep time? Not consecutive hours.”
The 2-year-old approves. “Diabolical,” he replies, like it’s a compliment.
But wait, there’s more.
“And you know she can’t nap so she’s gonna feel like she’s slowly losing her mind.”
Any new parent knows that sleep time is precious, so interfering with that means war. But the cherry on top was the 2-year-old’s final remark that had the comments blowing up with how “painfully accurate” the video was.
Before leaving the room, the older child says, “I’m gonna go dump out my LEGOs and not play with them.”
This behavior had fellow parents of toddlers jumping to the comments.
“The dumping out of LEGOs and not playing with them hit me in my soul! Drives me up the wall,” said one commenter.
Another added, “Then you step on the LEGOs.”
Overall, parents of babies and toddlers felt very seen by Gurk’s videos.
“I have a 3-year-old and a 7-month-old and I believe this is 100% accurate,” said one parent in the comments.
Another commented, “Accurate!! My heart aches for the baby days. However this video puts those feelings in check.”
Yup, there’s a reason the baby days don’t last forever.
