Modern Rangers explain reason behind change of venue

Coastal-based National Super League side Modern Coast Rangers have explained reason behind change of venue for home matches from KPA Mbaraki Sports ground to Bomu Complex.

Club secretary Ferdinand Ogot explained that easy access to the match venue; affordable costs for venue hiring and standard pitch are factors that have made the club to shift their home base to Bomu.

“Our fan base is in Changamwe and it is easier for our fans to access Bomu ground that to travel to KPA Mbaraki Sports Club. These coupled with cheaper rates for hiring the pitch and a standard pitch with proper drainage system have forced us to rescheduled our home matches to Bomu.”

Ogot revealed that they have been in consultation with the Chief Executive Officer, Department of Youth, Gender and Sports Babu Rajab, who confirmed that the Bomu Complex meets the requisite professional standards and specifications for hosting FKF National Super League and other high profile matches.

The Bomu Complex is among the projects funded by the Mombasa County government aimed at developing sports infrastructure and improving the play fields for the youth. Other venues constructed under the project include the ultra modern 3, 000 seater Uwanja Wa Mbuzi stadium in Kongowea, Kisauni Mlaleo and Majengo.
