Mncwango eyes January move to Orlando Pirates after rejecting new Polokwane City deal

Reported Ajax Cape Town and Orlando Pirates target Thobani Mncwango is said to be taking comfort from what happened with Kaizer Chiefs defender Philani Zulu.

Zulu spent almost a year training on his own after a contract dispute with Maritzburg United, before joining Chiefs prior to the current season.

Polokwane City striker Mcnwango, who has already expressed his interest in joining Pirates, is believed to have been sidelined at Rise and Shine.

“Mncwango is comforted by the fact that Zulu has got his career back on track at a big club after what happened at Maritzburg,” said The Citizen source close to the player.

The lanky forward has reportedly been left out of the Polokwane team since he refused to sign a contract extension as he was hoping to move to Pirates.

“He could still join Pirates in January if everything goes according to plan. He is unhappy but knows there is nothing he can do about his situation,” the source concluded.

Mncwango, who is also believed to be on the radar of Ajax, has made only two competitive appearances for the Rise and Shine this season.

His contract with Polokwane will expire at the end of June, 2018.
