The Brazilian scored a unanimous points win against the tough-as-nails American, who has to be commended for taking the fight the distance, despite being ferociously mauled.

Dos Anjos was awarded 50-45 scores by all three judges and is now eyeing up a UFC showdown against welterweight titleholder Tyron Woodley.
Lawler (28-12, 13-6 UFC) simply had no answer to his rival's blistering array of attacks - the Brazilian who holds a black belt in Jiu Jitsu mixing powerful punching with devastating kicks.
The fight looked as good as over when dos Anjos unleashed his astonishing flurry of shots in the second round but Lawler somehow managed to come through the carnage and out the other side.
The bout was the headline act at the UFC on Fox 26 event in Canada and further enhances dos Anjos' (28-9, 17-7 UFC) burgeoning reputation.
In one of the earlier fights, Josh Emmett marked his return to the UFC featherweight division with one of the cleanest KOs of the year.
The American was a massive underdog against third-ranked featherweight Ricardo Lamas but stopped his opponent with a vicious left hook in the first round.
