McGregor quickly deletes explosive ref push tweet

UFC superstar Conor McGregor has responded to his famous ref push incident with a tweet, before it was quickly deleted.

The Irishman explained exactly why he snapped at the ref, and refused to immediately leave the cage at the Bellator 187 event in London.

McGregor snapped at Marc Goddard after the experienced MMA referee ordered him out of the Octagon, following Charlie Ward's knockout victory.

Since the incident, question marks have surrounded exactly why The Notorious reacted so aggressively.

McGregor tweeted an answer to that question on Monday night (AEDT).

"Bloke KO'd on floor bout a minute straight and ref trying to say fight's not over, Conor. That's when I lost it. F**k yous all," McGregor wrote.

The UFC is yet to comment on the fiery incident.
