Female boxer shocks opponent with pre-fight kiss

Swedish boxer Mikaela Laurén has taken mind games to the next level, planting a kiss on her opponent during their pre-fight face-off.

Boxing face-offs are all about getting inside your opponent's head, but Cecilia Braekhus certainly didn't see this one coming.

SHOCKING: Boxer disqualified over sickening cheap shot KO

During a press conference on Monday, Laurén and Braekhus were staring down for the cameras when Laurén went in for a cheeky kiss.

A shocked Braekhus reeled away and planted a little slap on Laurén's cheek, before bursting into laughter.

“I haven’t got that in a while,” Braekhus joked.

Whether or not the unconventional tactic works remains to be seen, but it was worth a shot considering Norwegian Braekhus is undefeated in her 31-fight career.

She holds the female WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO titles and will fight Laurén (29-4) in Norway on October 21.

The 42-year-old Laurén actually has form with these sort of stunts, planting a kiss on Christina Hammer in 2013.

We also saw Gary 'Spike' O'Sullivan plant a kiss on Chris Eubank Jr. at their pre-fight face-off in 2015.

On that occasion it didn't go down very well.
