Fellow UFC star in foul-mouthed rant at Ronda Rousey

UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson has slammed Ronda Rousey, saying the former women's champ needs to grow up and get over her recent losses.

Rousey was brutally KO'd by Holly Holm in 2015 before suffering a similar fate against Amanda Nunes last year.

With rumours continuing to swirl that we've seen the last of Rousey in the Octagon, Johnson lashed out and didn't miss her.

"Look at Ronda Rousey," Johnson said in an interview with Sports Illustrated.

"You got your ass beat, grow the f*** up. It happens. It's mixed martial arts.

"I don't want to be like that. If I lose, I'll be like, I lost."

The man known as "Mighty Mouse" said Rousey needs to realise that losing is simply a part of sport.

"Everybody f***ing loses," he said.

"Look, Ronda, you lost two f***ing fights in a row, and you made more f***ing money than the women's roster. You'll be fine, don't worry about it."

Johnson also revealed how devastated he was after losing to Brad Pickett and Dominick Cruz in consecutive fights in 2010, before picking himself back up and making UFC history with 10-straight title defences.

"I was like, It's part of life, you're going to f***ing lose, I'm over it," Johnson said.

"I came home and nothing changed. Nothing changed. Nobody said, 'You f***ing suck, blah, blah, blah.'

"When I started to win, nothing still changed. The only thing that changed is people started to recognise me more.

"So now that's my mindset. Somebody came to me and told me: 'You know what I love about you? The outcome of your fights never dictates the person you are.'"

Rousey has remained tight-lipped in her time away from the sport, leaving it to those close to her to speculate on what she might focus on in her future.

UFC boss Dana White recently said it was looking very unlikely that she'd ever be back in the Octagon.

"Ronda and I talk maybe once a week, once every two weeks," White said.

"She has not said anything to me about a comeback."
