MMA fighter TKO's himself throwing haymaker
It took only one punch to end Luiz Dutra’s night on Saturday — and it didn’t even come from his opponent.
Less than 20 seconds into his fight against Abubakar Vagaev at WFCA 34 in Moscow, Dutra missed with a powerful overhand right and immediately fell to the mat writhing in pain.
It appears the 14-year MMA veteran dislocated his shoulder on the attempted punch, although nothing has been confirmed.
Fortunately, Vagaev didn’t add insult to injury by raining down blows on Dutra, as he walked over to check on his fallen counterpart before the referee stepped in to end the fight.
Dutra was 0-2 in his brief stint in the UFC.
The 34-year-old Brazillian lost his debut fight in 2014 after being disqualified for illegal elbows, and was released following his first-round defeat (TKO) to Tom Breese in 2015.
