Lewis savages lifeless opponent before horribly late stoppage

Heavyweight Derrick Lewis has defeated his opponent at UFC Halifax, but only after an extremely late stoppage from the ref.

Lewis completely dominated Browne in the second round of the Main Event at UFC Halifax and eventually knocked him down to the ground.

The big man then took his position above his dazed opponent and began unleashing huge shots to the head.

Browne was almost instantly completely knocked out, but the referee allowed Lewis to land an extra couple of shots on his lifeless opponent.

Lewis landed at least three big punches after Browne stopped intelligently defending himself, and two while Browne had absolutely no defence.

Lewis, ranked eighth among heavyweights, now has the longest win streak in his division, with six.

He took his opportunity to take a verbal shot at Browne after his win.

“He call himself a man, but he likes to put his hands on women. So, forget that guy. I got much more heart than he has,” Lewis said.

Browne had been accused of domestic violence by his ex-wife in 2015, however he denied the accusations and criminal charges were never pressed.

Twitter users were merciless towards Browne, some mocking both him and his girlfriend Ronda Rousey for the fashion in which they've both been knocked out in recent times.

The referee's inability to stop the fight in time was bad, but not as bad as this recent incident in which a cornerman had to save the day.

There was also another stunning KO earlier in the night at UFC Halifax, as Thiago Santos unleashed a vicious wheel kick.
